Registration opens April 15, 2012
Sailing classes (one week sessions, Weeks of July 9, July 16, July 23, July 30 and August 6, 2012, morning or afternoon, M-F) for children and youths ages 8-16. $115 per week with scholarships available. The Northport Public School will present The Case of The Jersey Lily by Sherlock Holmes in the Northport Community Arts Center. The play is being directed by Donna Wilson.

The Grand Traverse Lighthouse is giving free admission to all mothers on May 13. On May 19, all military personnel, current or retired are admitted free.

The Northport Public School seniors will present their senior projects to the public. They begin in the Northport Community Arts Center and move on from there.

Northport Area Heritage Association presents the program conducted by Stef Staley. Will be held upstairs at the Northport Museum Building across from the Northport Post Office. Five dollar donation requested.
Friday, May 18, 2012 at 6 pm
Northport Public School is holding a basketball alumni tournament on Friday, May 18 with the first game at 6 pm and the second game at 7:30 pm. The finals will start at 1 pm on May 19. Cost is $5 each or for families with school aged children the cost is $10. Call 231 510-4562 for more information.

This is a fun/fund raising event for Chelsie Wack, a NPS senior who has MS. Come listen to live 50’s music, dance, enjoy fun activities, purchase items, silent auction and enjoy great food. Donations accepted for Chelsie’s healthcare and to support MS research. Held in the school’s small gymnasium.

Detour. Bluegrass music at its best is kicking off the 2012 NCAC season. The group includes a mandolin, banjo, jazz fiddle, guitar and bass along with harmonizing vocal renditions. The Detour Bluegrass musicians have performed with some of the great names in the music world such as Bill Evans, Wynonna Judd, Oscar Pettiford, Anne Murray and a host of other stars. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for students and Northport students are free. Tickets are available at the office (Rm 202 in the school) by calling 386-5001 or at the ticket booth one hour before the performance. Sponsors: Easling Construction Company and Easling Home Maintenance Co-sponsors: Leelanau Enterprise, Alan & Debra Campbell and Bayshore Oil & Propane.
